Lacri is a composition solution very similar to the natural tear, based on sodium carboxymethylcellulose, a salt derived from cellulose. Tear-mimicking formulations should be used when the quantity or quality of tears is altered or when tear loss occurs due to increased evaporation. Dry keratoconjunctivitis or “dry eye” is a frequent ophthalmic problem in dogs that usually results from a deficiency in the aqueous component of the tear film. Lacri helps to lubricate the eyes, improving the symptoms of dry eyes.
